BIO
Hi! My name is Jai' Chewe and I am a self-published author of two books, one of which I wrote in the fourth grade and got published in the fifth, and the other I wrote in the fifth grade and got published in the sixth! I want to inspire people to think differently and voice their own opinions through my work, and have them know that their voice matters no matter how big or small.
Currently, I am in the 11th grade and I am an active member in multiple organizations including the Black Student Union, Jack and Jill of America, the Links, Inc., and the SCBWI, among others.
Afro-Sentrik Engagements is an organization geared towards nurturing the development of children grades Kindergarten through eighth grade, who attend inner-city institutions that may not provide the same resources as that of the latter. Afro-Sentrik Engagements aims to inspire these young minds through literature and composition to visualize their success story, find hope in their dedication, and advocate for themselves and those without a voice. From New York to New Orleans, there is an everlasting need for better education in these schools. For many of these students, school is the only place that they may find the support to reach further and challenge themselves in all aspects, and Afro-Sentrik Engagements wants to use that outlet to combat other possible negative external factors in their lives.
